The 16th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) was held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center from November 1 to November 5. There was a dazzling array of exhibits at the Uganda exhibition pavilion, including coffee, sesame, wooden handicrafts. Exhibitor Ssenyonga Saidi shared his feelings when attending this fair. He said that the scenery in Changsha is very beautiful, and local visitors are very friendly and kind. If there is also such a fair to be held in the future, he will bring more products to Changsha. He looked forward to more exchanges next time.
Uganda is located in eastern Africa. Agriculture plays an important role in its national economy. Its major exports are coffee, tea, cotton, flowers and fish products. In recent years, China and Uganda have maintained good cooperative relations. China-FAO South-South Cooperation Project has achieved good results in Uganda. The two sides have carried out close and friendly cooperation in the fields of food crops, livestock and horticulture. The construction of agricultural technology demonstration centers, pilot demonstration projects and personnel training campaigns have been advanced smoothly, injecting new energy into Uganda's agricultural economic activities.
The city of Entebbe of Uganda and Changsha of Hunan, the host of the fair, are sister cities. In June this year, Changsha and Entebbe signed a supplementary agreement on deepening friendly cooperation. A consensus on five aspects has been reached. They involve: increasing education aid; expanding economic and trade exchanges; exploring park co-construction; enhancing educational exchanges; and carrying out agricultural cooperation.
