Changsha International Marathon 2018 to Kick off
The Changsha International Marathon 2018 will start on October 21. On October 7, Deputy Mayor Chen Zhong, and CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee Vice Chairman and Changsha Sports Bureau Director, Li Ping, visited the Committee and checked the preparations for the event. At the same time, specific requirements were put forward for its final preparations.
This year is the fourth year of the event. It has been upgraded to the China Athletics Association Top Event last year. Currently, many adjustments have been made to meet the IAAF Bronze Standard requirements, such as starting points, line settings, services, and medical insurance. Chen Zhong and his entourage listened carefully to the Committee staff report on line setting, and pointed out specific requirements for event security, route instructions and the opening ceremony. A half marathon will be set in the West Lake Cultural Park, close to the subway, which provides convenient transportation for runners after the competition. At the same time, Chen Zhong stressed that it is necessary to guarantee the security of the West Lake Cultural Park, and runner safety.
On October 8，the Committee held a press conference to announce the running routes, costumes, medal styles, and preparations for the event.
