Free Eye Surgeries Offered for Poorer Citizens

Recently, the launching ceremony of the “Precise Poverty Alleviation Project for the Patients Suffering from Eye Diseases” was launched by the Changsha Returned Overseas Chinese Federation in Wujialing Residential Community. And a theme activity on health care in Kaifu District was also held there. "Precise Poverty Alleviation Project", the public welfare treatment project will mainly serve for poor patients with severe eye diseases (cataract, sputum, etc.) in Changsha.

From July 30 until the end of 2020, the project will provide 4,000 patients with designated surgical treatments. Surgery on patients will be carried out by doctors from Changsha Aier Eye Hospital. After the patients applied for reimbursement, they who have been included in local medical insurance program or new rural cooperative medical care program will be subsidized 1,000 yuan each by the Chinese Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation. And the rest expenses will be covered by the Hospital.
