2017 Changsha International Marathon postponed to Nov 18
The 2017 Changsha International Marathon, which was projected to get underway on Oct 22, was announced to be postponed to Nov 18, according to its organizing committee.
Registration for the running event opened on Aug 25 and witnessed an active participation of running enthusiasts, with more than 10,000 runners signing up on the first day.
By Sept 10, 16 days after its announcement, the number of applicants broke the figure and reached 20,000.
A total of 10,539 runners have registered to compete in the full marathon (42.20 kilometers), 16,310 runners in half marathon (21.10 km), and 5,475 people have opted for the 5-km mini-run.
From Sept 11 to 15, the organizing committee will be examining and verifying the large amounts of applications, and will publish the results of the draw at 10 am on Sept 16.
Those successful applicants need to confirm their participation and pay the registration fee within the next 10 days after the draw comes out. The registration confirmation will take place from 10 am to 5 pm, between Sept 16 and Sept 25. Those unpaid entrees will be deemed as automatically abandoned.
Competitors of the 2017 Changsha International Marathon will start running from Helong Sports Center and are able to get a running view of the city, winding their way through most of its natural landscape, landmark buildings and tourist attractions.
