15th East Asia Forum Held in Changsha
The 15th East Asia Forum kicked off in Changsha on June 30, 2017, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) cooperation.
Themed "20 Years of ATP Cooperation: Towards the East Asia Economic Community", the forum received an attendance of approximately a 100 people including government officials, representatives from the industrial sector, academy of the ASEAN countries and China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (ROK) as well as representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat.

Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Du Jiahao, Governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province Xu Dazhe, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Yi Lianhong, and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province He Baoxiang attended the activities.
All parties took part in in-depth discussions on three topics including the retrospect and prospect of 10+3 cooperation during the past 20 years, stimulation of the vitality of small and medium enterprises and the blueprint plan for East Asia economic community.
A concert to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 10+3 cooperation was held at Changsha Concert Hall. Huagu Opera, one of Changsha’s cultural traditions, accompanied by songs with traditional instruments such as Guzhen, was performed.

The first meeting of the East Asia Forum was held in 2003, and it was an important Track 1.5 mechanism under the framework of 10+3 cooperation, aiming to provide a platform for dialogue and cooperation for the governmental officials, industrial sectors, and academy of the ASEAN countries and China, Japan, and the ROK and to push forward East Asian cooperation.
After the opening ceremony, delegations visited several major local museums and institutions including the Changsha Museum, the Urban and Rural Planning Museum, and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co Ltd, to learn more about Changsha's development status.
