Rural tourism festival in Changsha

The 2017 Changsha Rural Tourism Festival opened in Liuyang, Changsha on March 16, launching some 100 activities to be held throughout the year's four seasons.

 

Springtime activities have recently been held in Changsha, including rapeseed flower festivals in Hanpu town, Liuyang and Chunhua town of Changsha county, a cherry blossom festival in Xunlong River Sakura Valley and a peach blossom festival in Huitang town, Ningxiang.

A photograph competition is also currently underway. Winners have the chance to take home more than 10,000 yuan ($1,450) in prizes.

 

Wonderful travel routes, integrating popular destinations and local featured events, have also been released to accompany the festival launch.

 

"The year-long tourism festival is an important platform for promoting rural products and upgrading the local tourism industry," said Chen Zhong, vice mayor of Changsha. "It also helps to increase rural incomes."
