Brightly bathing yellow rape flowers are luring families and keen photographers to the second Hanpu Rape Flower Festival which opened in Yuelu district, Changsha on March 6.

Hanpu subdistrict boasts urban Changsha's biggest spread of rape fields at 3,500 mu (233.3 hectares), a key tourist attraction in the region.

This year, to help visitors find their way around, the government has provided hand-painted maps. "We've marked out the best routes and recommend some good restaurants and fruit-picking bases in the area," said a Hanpu subdistrict official.

Meanwhile, activities and games are being held, such as a photograph competition, a kite-flying contest, cycling events and poetry recitals.

The festival will run until April 20 and is free of charge.
