Auto expo hits the road in Changsha
The 12th China (Changsha) International Automobile Expo is underway in Changsha, showcasing the latest automobiles from the world's most famous carmakers, from Dec 12 to 18.

More than 1,000 cars from 82 auto brands are spread out across the 143,000-square-meter exhibition floor, including Bentley, George Patton, Lincoln, and Mazda.

A total of 32 cars made their debut at the show, 20 Hunan-made cars demonstrating the province's rise to prominence in the auto industry.
Green motoring was represented well at the show with 26 new-energy vehicles and 17 fully-electric vehicles on display.
Zhang Jianfei, vice governor of Hunan province, spoke highly of the progress that Hunan's automobile manufacturers have made when he led a delegation visiting the expo on Dec 14.

Zhang said that Hunan manufacturers must not be complacent. "Manufacturers still have a long way to go to keep innovating and produce more advanced cars in accordance with the demands of the market," said Zhang.
Held for the past 11 years, the influence of the Changsha automobile expo has spread internationally.
The automobile industry in Hunan has grown in recent years. In the first three quarters of the year, Hunan's auto industry grew 39.7 percent year-on-year, accounting for 19.1 percent in the province's GDP. Output from all 12 major automakers added up to 672,721, with 659,254 of the vehicles having already been sold.
