The photo, taken on November 18, shows a worker works at the construction site of the Purui Tunnel Project on Yueliangdao (Moon Island) Road in Wangcheng District, Changsha. The tunnel is the first underground urban tunnel in Wangcheng District. It starts from Leifeng Avenue in the west, passes through Purui Sibao Community, and ends at Wujiachong Road in the east.

A firefighting-themed metro train set off from Changsha Metro Line 2’s Guangda Station at 10:25 a.m. on November 9. It is Hunan’s first metro train of its kind put into service. It runs on the busiest Changsha Metro Line 2. There are six cars with the theme of “Preventing fire risks and building a beautiful home”. Car doors and walls have firefighting cartoon images and various common firefighting hints, so that passengers can learn fire prevention and improve their safety awareness when riding the train.
Changsha-Macao Direct Flight Opens Oct. 27
The China Southern Airlines flight CZ8119 carrying 142 passengers took off from the Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 20: 23 on October 27. After a flight of 1 hour and 20 minutes, it landed at the Macao International Airport at 21:43. This is currently the only regular direct flight linking Hunan and Macao.
First Train of Metro Line 5 Arrives in Changsha
On the morning of October 16, the first train of Changsha Metro Line 5 successfully arrived at the Shuiduhe Station. It was an important step forward for the trial operation to be started at the end of the year and the initial operation in July 2020.
Changsha Metro Line 3 Phase 1 Completes Tunnel Construction
The first phase of Changsha Metro Line 3 completed tunnel construction on October 13. This laid a solid foundation for the line’s test run to be held at the end of this year and the trial operation in next July.
Changsha-Nepal Direct Flight to Open November 20
The Hunan Airport Corporation announced on October 13 that a regular direct flight between Changsha and Nepal’s capital Kathmandu will begin on November 20. This will be Hunan’s first direct air route to South Asia. The new route will be operated by Himalaya Airlines every Wednesday. A one-way trip will take about 4 hours. Specific flight schedules will be released soon.
