Hunan’s Airports Handle 33.6 Mln Passenger Trips in 2019
The airports across Hunan handled over 33.6 million passenger trips, 258,000 flights, and 178,000 tons of cargo in 2019, which respectively register an increase of 11.3%, 9.8%, and 13% over last year. The number of international passenger trips hit 3 million, up 17%.

The Changsha South Bus Station Integrated Transportation Hub began trial operation on December 31, 2019. Meanwhile, the original Changsha South Bus Station as a transitional station was out of service.
Changsha Metro Line 3, 5 Start Test Runs
Both the Changsha Metro Line 3 and 5 started test runs on the morning of December 30, 2019. They are scheduled to be put into trial operation next July. Changsha will enter an era of metro network then, with a “half-an-hour living circle” reaching all parts of the city.
Expressways Will Not Be Toll-Free on New Year's Day
Beginning January 1, 2020, a new toll collection mode will be introduced for national expressways. The Hunan Provincial Expressway Network Toll Collection Center announced on December 27 that, expressways will not be toll-free to cars on January 1, 2020.
Qiangjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway Opens to Traffic
The China Railway Corporation announced on December 24 that the Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway is to open and put into operation on December 26. Passengers can begin to book tickets on Dec. 24. Starting from Dec. 26, eight pairs of intercity bullet trains marked with “C” will run between Changsha Station and Zhangjiajie West Station.
Changsha Metro Line 5 Construction Enters Final Stage
The Changsha Metro Line 5 construction has entered its final stage. On December 17, the 3rd Construction Co., Ltd of China Construction 5th Engineering Bureau, the construction unit of the largest station on Line 5 - Shuiduhe Station, announced that equipment debugging is underway at the station. The line is expected to start test runs soon.
