Changsha to Advance Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Integrated Transportation Construction
Changsha will actively promote the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integrated transportation construction this year, according to a work conference on transportation on January 25. The city will focus on the integration of intercity trunk roads, expressways and rail transit; take the lead in handling key cooperation projects such as the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Rail Transit West Ring Line; and, focus on constructing the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Grid-patterned Expressway Network, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Expansion Project, Jiangbei-Ganshan Expressway East Extension Project, Ningxiang-Shaoshan Expressway, and Jiangbei-Ganshan Expressway.
Changsha will focus on building itself into a national comprehensive transportation hub this year.
Changsha will actively promote the construction of major projects such as the Changsha-Ganzhou Railway, the Changde-Yiyang-Changsha High-Speed Railway, and the Changsha West High-Speed Railway Station Comprehensive Passenger Transport Hub.
Changsha will speed up the construction of the Changsha Huanghua International Airport renovation and expansion project.
Changsha will accelerate the construction of Tongguan Port Phase II project, and start building a special railway line connecting the Tongguan Port Area. This will help Changsha, an inland city, be at the forefront of opening-up.
Changsha will also actively advance urban-rural integration; carry out projects to improve the quality and efficiency of the rural road network; and, complete the construction of 600 kilometers of rural roads. These will further establish a smooth rural transportation network, and promote connectivity between urban and rural areas, between regions, and between trunk roads and access roads.
