The Hongqi Road Interchange adopts an alfalfa leaf-shaped design. It covers an area of about 90,000 square meters, with 8 ramps whose total length is more than 4,000 meters. Its highest point is 23.77 meters above the ground. The bridge has a standard width of 25 meters and a maximum span of 64 meters.
The Xiangfu Road overpass is expected to be completed in the first half of 2020. After it opens to traffic, vehicles can travel from Hexi (the western side of the Xiangjiang River) to the Changsha South Railway Station without going through traffic lights, which will greatly reduce the travel time.
