Changsha Has 3 New Green Shopping Malls
The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) recently announced that China has 144 green shopping malls as of 2020. Three are in Changsha City. They are Changsha Tongcheng Lushan Commercial Plaza, Tianhong Shopping Center Liuyang Store, and Tianhong Department Store Shawan Park Store.
A green shopping mall is a business or trading enterprise or venue which follows a business philosophy of environmental protection, health, and safety. The mall provides green services and leads for green consumption. It integrates upstream and downstream supply chain resources. It conserves energy and reduces emission. It recycles, and protects the environment. It has other public welfare activities. Green malls have intelligent building control systems which accurately manage elevators, lamps, water-saving equipment, and other measures. It introduces green products to ensure that consumers enjoy the best green consumption experience.
The MOC began evaluating green shopping malls in 2017. The Hunan government has been actively promoting green evaluations for shopping malls in the province. Enterprise acceptance of the idea of a green shopping and its enthusiastic participation in the evaluations continue to increase. This results in a beneficial atmosphere of “green life and development” throughout the province, said Li Zhongming, head of the Circulation Development Division of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce.
