Changsha Jiuru Zhai Food Store
Changsha Jiuru Zhai Food Store is a leading pastry enterprise both inside and outside Hunan province. It is a prestigious food store with a history of nearly a hundred years.
Founded in 1915 by Rao Jusheng, Jiuru Zhai got its name from a poem in The Book of Songs which mentioned the word “ru”(如) nine times (九, nine, or jiu in Chinese) to express warm wishes for longevity.
When starting the business, the founder invited famous pastry chefs to become shareholders of Jiuru Zhai, and encouraged them to make more delicious and elaborate pastries. Their pastries soon became well known in Hunan for novelty, high quality and good taste.
While exhibiting traditional skills, Jiuru Zhai is the soul of innovation and development. Its products combine a traditional style and outlook with increasingly popular new flavors and upgraded raw materials.
