Hunan Features 10 Cultural Tourism Industry Towns
Ten towns in Hunan were given awards for having important cultural tourism industries in a ceremony held on 15 July 2020 in Changsha.
The towns, or townships, and their counties (county-level city) are:
-Miao’ertan Town of Longshan County;
-Shanjiang Town of Fenghuang County;
-Shuikou Town of Jianghua Yao Autonomous County;
-Beidouxi Town of Xupu County;
-Hongjiaguan Bai Township of Sangzhi County;
-Langshan Town of Xinning County;
-Luyuan Town of Yanling County;
-Huangcao Town of Zixing City;
-Kaihui Town of Changsha County; and,
-Hupingshan Town of Shimen County.
Kaihui Town of Changsha County
Kaihui Town is in northernmost Changsha County, Changsha City. It has a long history and profound culture. It is home to many talented people and revolutionary heroes including the Yang Kaihui, Chairman Mao Zedong’s wife, and is the birth place of Miao Boying, the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s first female member. There are nearly 40 cultural relic protection units. It is a national ecological town and one of top 10 summer resorts in Hunan. Cultural tourism has developed rapidly in the town. Red, or revolutionary-related, study tours and rural travel including sightseeing, fruit picking, and farming work experience are popular.
