Cultural and Tourism Activities to Be Held
The upcoming May Day holiday will be a good time to go traveling within the province. Hosted by the Hunan Department of Culture and Tourism and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, the Hunan’s history and culture tour themed on “experiencing modern city and embracing healthy life”, and the cultural tourism season themed on “Summer in Changsha” were launched on the Orange Isle on April 17. It marked the start of one hundred marketing promotion activities of cultural tourism with the brand “Splendid Xiaoxiang”.
Colorful activities will be staged during the cultural tourism season, including the free tour offered to the front-line medical staff who engaged in Hubei’s fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, highlighted activities presented by cultural tourism industries, ten main promotion events on featured cultural tourism presented by various districts and counties (county-level cities), the promotion of Changsha’s quality cultural tourism routes in summer, public service performance at municipal public art and cultural centers, and the activity of staging 100 performances at tourist attractions.
In order to speed up the resumption and further development of cultural tourism market, Hunan has made great efforts in vigorously promoting “5+2” quality tourism routes, and cooperating with the 2020 Online Cultural Tourism Consumption Initiative to launch brand marketing promotion activities. In addition to the above event on April 17, another three activities will be launched in April, including millions of self-driving tourists traveling in Zhangjiajie on April 18, lake tourism around the Dongting Lake in Changde on April 26, and the Spring Rural Cultural Tourism Festival and the launching ceremony of promoting poverty alleviation via cultural tourism industry in Anhua of Yiyang on April 28.
Hunan now ranks the 7th for its work resumption rate of tourist attractions, and Changsha ranks the 4th among 35 major tourist cities across the country.
