Longping Rice Museum
Longping Rice Museum, the world's first rice-themed museum, is located at Longping Park on the east bank of Liuyang River. Its buildings are shaped like rice grains and arranged in the pattern of rice ears, which is highly distinctive.
The museum covers an area of 17,200 square meters. It consists of three exhibition halls featuring history and culture of rice, science and technology of rice as well as Yuan Longping’s story with his hybrid rice. It uses video, photos, and real objects to showcase China's long history of rice culture and agricultural civilization.
The museum was open to the public for free on May 19, 2016.
