International Youth Carnival Held at CSUST

The International College of Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUST) held the first International Youth Carnival on December 3. Hundreds of students from 32 countries including China, Laos, and Thailand, participated. They introduced their country’s specialty foods; costumes and accessories; singing and dancing arts; and, tourist attractions.

Cultural performances including an African dance show, a Chinese instrumental music performance, and a Chinese and foreign student chorus, drew rounds of applause from the audience. Chinese dumplings, Lao meat salad, Togolese grilled fish, Ethiopian sauce chicken, Kenyan milk tea were displayed at the food area, while Chinese paper-cuts, Lao commemorative coins, Mongolian yurt souvenirs, and African tambourines at the cultural area, all attracting lots of students. Students who like singing and dancing voluntarily perform in front of various display booths.

CSUST International College Deputy Dean Gan Haiying said that, the college, which has 480 international students from 62 countries, will try to hold a carnival every semester to promote exchanges and mutual learning among students from different countries.
