Overseas Scholars Discuss Popularity of Chinese Language in Changsha
The Chinese Language Education Forum, jointly hosted by the College of International Chinese Culture and the Liberal Arts College of Hunan Normal University, was held in Changsha on May 12.
During the two-day forum, three famous scholars from international Chinese language and Chinese language education circles carried out series lectures centering on themes of “Inter-cultural communication and CSL Teaching” and “Concepts, materials and methods of graded extensive reading in language education”, discussing the development of Chinese language education abroad. The noted scholars are Professor Feng Shengli from Harvard University, Chen Xuechao from Hong Kong Institute of Education and Chu Chengzhi from University of California, Davis.
At the forum, the scholars were appointed as visiting professors of the Research Center of Chinese Language Education of Hunan Normal University. Vice President of Hunan Normal University Jiang Hongxin awarded the appointment letters to them. Many teachers and students from Hunan University, Xiangtan University and Hunan University of Science and Technology were attracted to the event.
