“Happy Changsha, My Home–Changsha in Foreigners’ Eyes” Held
A series of activities themed “Happy Changsha, My Home–Changsha in Foreigners’ Eyes” were held on October 17 in Changsha. More than 60 foreign friends who worked and lived in Changsha participated in some tours. They went to the Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town, where they watched ceramics, Xiang embroidery works, and were told about ceramics making process. They also visited the Robot Museum, 5D Flying Theater and Changsha Kiln Museum. They tasted traditional Changsha food and enjoyed Changsha’s charm. The event was co-organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Changsha Municipal People’s Government, and the Changsha Evening News Newspaper Group.
Through the tours around cultural towns, the overseas guests knew more about Huxiang culture, ceramics art and modern technology. They had an access to know about Changsha's latest achievements in cultural and artistic inheritance, cultural relics protection, technological innovation and upgrading, and new rural construction. The event has been held for 14 years since 2005. It has attracted more than 3,000 foreign friends to join in exploring Changsha. It helped make them be closer with Changsha.
In recent years, Changsha has deeply integrated into the “Belt and Road” development and implemented the innovation-oriented opening up strategy to build a more opened inland city. It has won the reputation of the “City of Media Arts” and the “Happiest City in China”. Up to now, Changsha has twinned with 50 cities, and established economic and trade cooperation ties with 194 countries and regions throughout the world. There are 152 companies in the world's Top 500 invested in Changsha.
