On January 20th, at Changsha County Jinjing Town, the Spring Festival ceremony themed at “the golden Rooster celebrates family reunion, Qinghe and Jinjing have strong festive atmosphere” officially kicked off, which advocates etiquette and virtues and inherits traditional culture.
Guided by master, residents in Jinjing town kowtow to ancestors for three times and read prayers. After that, representatives comprised of leaders, the respected and schoolchildren hold whole grains, fruits and flowers to Yan Emperor, Yellow Emperor and the common ancestors for paying tributes, thus tradition virtue of “respecting the old and cherishing the young” part has become the highlight of ceremony. After making bows for several times, 10 schoolchildren showed courtesy for the senior representatives directed by master, and the senior shake hands with children as return and send them New Year gifts and lucky money. Finally, all villagers pay New Year’s greetings to each other and the Spring Festival celebrations concluded.
As programs integrated “show courtesy to the educated, respect the old and cherish the young” into daily life, and added “ring out the Old Year and ring in the New Year” and “enjoy a happy New Year” elements, which enhances the quality of fellow villagers.
Standing Committee of County Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department Yang Yi said that Jinjing town combined New Year elements with longing for blessings and good fortune, which is an innovative attempt of the masses cultural activities, and pray for people to embrace a wonderful new year.
The head of Jinjing town Wang Lejun said that it takes the form of Chinese solemn traditional ceremony to enhance the friendship between fellow villagers, cadres and the masses, in these days, county-level and township-level leaders, the educated and the elderly celebrate the Spring Festival together, thus to lay a humanistic foundation for all work, town and village development in the coming year.
