Changsha Launches 2021 Chinese New Year Online Shopping Festival

Updated: 2021-01-28

As the Spring Festival approaches, localities across China timely adjusted epidemic prevention and control measures. People are encouraged to spend the Spring Festival holiday in the cities where they work instead of returning to their hometowns. Buying Spring Festival goods through online channels has become their first choice.

Changsha observes the 2021 Chinese New Year Online Shopping Festival from January 20 to February 18. So far, more than 110 enterprises including catering enterprises, shopping malls and e-commerce platforms have signed up for the event. Residents can freely choose Spring Festival goods online.

The event aims to contain the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, guarantee sufficient supplies, and promote consumption. In accordance with the principle of “government guidance, enterprise participation, market-oriented operation”, it will mobilize various forces and strengthen connection with national e-commerce platforms. Influential local e-commerce platforms and e-commerce application enterprises will be guided to carry out online sales and delivery.

Xingsheng Youxuan will issue e-coupons and carry out a series of promotion activities. JD-Daojia, together with major chain retailers including Wal-Mart, Yonghui Superstore, China Resources Vanguard, Better Life, and Lotus, will provide one-hour delivery service for all kinds of goods. Binghuolou Restaurant and other catering enterprises will launch the online ordering service for family reunion dinner, or the New Year eve dinner.

During the event, shopping malls, supermarkets, and catering and retail enterprises in the city will actively adopt online means to improve the convenience of services. All districts, county and county-level cities will also organize online activities to promote local high-quality specialty products.
