Hunan Sees over 170% Growth in Traditional Chinese Medicine Export in First 4 Months

The afficacy of traditional Chinese medicine has been fully proved amid the epidemic, which results in a sharp rise of its export. According to the customs statistics, Hunan has exported 6,817 tons of traditional Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese patent medicine between January and April this year, a year-on-year increase of 70.8%. The export value reached 310 million yuan, an increase of 45.1%.

The customs data shows a significant growth in March and April. The export volume of Chinese medical materials and patent medicine was 2,229.3 tons in March and 1,789.1 tons in April, up 97.9% and 38.3% year on year respectively. The export value amounted to 99.666 million yuan in March and 81.809 million yuan in April, rising by 68.8% and 27% over last year. 

Driven by government supports, the traditional Chinese medicinal materials industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Hunan has seen a steady growth in traditional Chinese medicinal materials export. It exported 11,000 tons in 2018 and 15,000 tons in 2019, a year-on-year growth of 36.8% and 43.7% respectively. 

As the epidemic situation turns stable in China, traditional Chinese medicine has been attached great attention. Yinhuang Qingfei Capsule of Hunan Anbang Pharmaceutical, has played a significant role in fighting against the epidemic. The company donated the medicine to various countries and regions including Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, the Netherlands, Italy, U.S.A, and Dubai.
