March 23 marked the day for the CPC Central Committee to leave Xibaipo, a revolutionary base of the CPC in Hebei Province, for Beijing to “sit for a test”, which was referred to whether the CPC, as a revolutionary party, could successfully govern China. It is also the Changsha Clean Governance Day, warning the Party members and cadres of Changsha to perform clean governance.
On March 23 afternoon, Hu Henghua, Standing Committee member of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, led leading group members of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, the Changsha Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, the Changsha Municipal People’s Government and the CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee, as well as heads of the legal and procuratorial institutions, to review the pledge to join the Party on Orange Isle, an important place of origin of the CPC Central Committee’s spirit of “sitting for a test”. It was hoped that through this activity, Party members and leaders will keep in mind and implement the spirit of “sitting for a test”, and hand in satisfactory “answer sheets”.
The CPC Changsha Municipal Committee designates March 23 every year as the Changsha Clean Governance Day, and has held relevant activities for 11 consecutive years.
