Donations Delivered to Hunan on Haan-Changsha Chartered Flight
A chartered airplane from Haan of Germany arrived at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport on the evening of February 13. It is the first chartered flight organized by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government carrying the largest batch of donated epidemic prevention and protective materials.
The flight was operated by the Suparna Airlines. It carried 37 batches of donations, with a bulk volume of 350 cubic meters and a weight of 48.23 tons. Among the donations, 82.44% were for Hunan, while a large quantity of medical prevention materials were assigned to Hubei.
The donators included many enterprises, such as the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited (CRCC), Zoomlion, Sany, and Better Life; foreign organizations, including German-Chinese Society for Nursing e.V. (Deutsch-Chinesische Gesellschaft für Pflege e.V.); and, overseas Chinese.
The Changsha Municipal People’s Government and port management authority had made concerted efforts to ensure smooth transportation of these donations. “We almost had not time for sleeping due to 7-hr time difference between Germany and Changsha,” said a person in Charge of the government.
A Suparna Airlines manager marked that, in order to transport the donations to Changsha as soon as possible, they had kept a close eye on weather changes, and adjusted flight schedule accordingly. They even arranged several flights on standby in 24 hours.
