2019 Hunan (Changsha) Battery Industry Expo Held
The 2019 Hunan (Changsha) Battery Industry Expo opened on October 26. It lasted for three days. More than 200 famous companies and 5,000 professionals participated to seek cooperation.
The experts and scholars presented included Yang Yusheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Qian Yitai, Nan Cewen, Sun Shigang, and Chen Jun, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science; and Zhang Jiujun, fellow member of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada (FRSC-CA). They discussed and advised on Hunan’s battery industrial development.
The advanced energy storage materials and power battery industrial chain is one of Hunan’s prioritized 20 emerging industrial chains with competitive superiority. At present, there are nearly 100 related companies over designated size. A complete industrial chain with distinctive regional features has formed, involving basic materials as nonferrous metals and rare earth; advanced power storage materials and devices; electric vehicles; and, waste power battery recycling. In 2018, 66 power storage materials companies included in Hunan’s statistics realized a total output value of 3.45 billion CNY, up 35% over the previous year.
Various activities were held during the expo, including a national electrochemistry industrial forum, exhibitions, and a job fair for battery talents. More than 60 projects valued at 5.5 billion CNY were contracted.
This expo was organized by the Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology, Hunan Department of Commerce, and Changsha Municipal People’s Government.
