Changsha-Macao Direct Flight Opens Oct. 27
The China Southern Airlines flight CZ8119 carrying 142 passengers took off from the Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 20: 23 on October 27. After a flight of 1 hour and 20 minutes, it landed at the Macao International Airport at 21:43. This is currently the only regular direct flight linking Hunan and Macao.
The new route is operated with Airbus 320 every day. The flight CZ8119 starts off from Changsha at 20:15, and arrives in Macao at 21:55. The return flight CZ8120 takes off from Macao at 23:00 and lands at Changsha at 00:35 next day.
Macao is popular with tourists because of a great number of tourist attractions and unique streets and lanes worth visiting. In the past, Hunan passengers had to go through Zhuhai’s Gongbei Port after leaving or before visiting Macao. With the opening of the new air route, passengers can directly fly to Macao. This greatly reduces waiting time for customs clearance and makes formalities simpler.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, the new air route launched by the China Southern Airlines is one of the initiatives to positively respond to Hunan’s cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Changsha’s “four-hour aviation economic circle” construction.
The opening of the new air route will not only provide new travel options for tourists from Changsha and Macao, but also strengthen Hunan-Macao exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, culture, and tourism, and lift bilateral cooperation to a new level.
