French Cultural Delegation Visits Changsha
An “Exploring China” cultural delegation led by Yves LAMY, mayor of Coutances city in the Manche department in France’s Normandy region, visited Changsha on October 21. The delegation composed of 19 members from Manche’s France-China Friendship Association.
Zhang Qingsong, deputy director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, accompanied the delegates on the tour. They visited Yuelu Academy, an over one-thousand-year-old educational institution, to explore the history and culture of Hunan.
Later, they visited the French Open - Roland Garros Red Clay Court Tennis Park at Moon Island in Changsha. They had in-depth exchanges on Sino-French sports friendly relations and future cooperation. The Red Clay Court Tennis Park was officially awarded the title of Manche’s France-China Sports Exchange Base.
At the welcome dinner, Vice Director Zhang Qingsong said that the Sino-French friendship has a long history. He hoped that when French friends see the bright moon and stars at night, they will think of the beautiful Moon Island and the charming “Star City” –Changsha.
Mayor Yves LAMY said that he and the delegation were impressed by the hospitality of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and Changsha people. He hoped to further promote cultural, educational, and economic exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Normandy in the future.
The delegation visits Yuelu Academy.
The delegation has friendly exchanges with the Moon Island management chief.
