Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo Displays Hunan’s Agricultural and Rural Progress
The annual Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo is a window to show agricultural and rural development achievements. This year, a special pavilion will be set to present Hunan’s agricultural and rural development over the past seven decades since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
Since 1949, the CPC Hunan Committee and the Hunan Provincial People’s Committee have drawn high attentions on agricultural and rural development, and led the Hunan people to keep exploring and innovating. Hunan’s agricultural and rural economy has realized stable progress.
Various display means, including objects, pictures, comparison of figures, e-books and publications, and videos, will be used to present Hunan’s notable agricultural and rural development, according to a person in charge of the Hunan Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The pavilion showcases Hunan’s agricultural and rural development from the following nine parts:
First, development history. It presents Hunan’s exploration in agricultural and rural development during three periods (1949-1978; 1978-2012; and, 2012 – present);
Second, flourishing agricultural development. It exhibits the accelerated progress of the agricultural sectors of competitive advantages towards 100-billion-yuan ones;
Third, quality and brands. It presents agricultural upgrades in pursuing safe and healthy products;
Fourth, production conditions. It showcases the strengthened foundation in the aspects of agricultural mechanization, irrigation and water conservancy, soil and fertilizer, and plant protection;
Fifth, scientific and technological innovation. It tells the research achievements such as hybrid rice;
Sixth, opening up. It presents Hunan’s opening up and rise in foreign capital utilization, foreign aids, and outbound promotion of agricultural products;
Seventh, attractive countryside. It displays new image of Hunan’s rural areas from the perspectives of rural construction, farmers’ livelihood improvement, and cultural activities;
Eighth, targeted alleviation. It presents Hunan’s progress in poverty alleviation; and,
Ninth, prospects. It shows the implementation of smart agriculture progress and implementation of rural revitalization strategy.
