Changsha has over 9 Mln National Day Holiday Tourist Arrivals
The HB (Changsha) Film Town launched its “Hunan Film Festival” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It attracted a large number of tourists.
The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, announced that nearly 9.556 million tourist trips were made in Changsha during the National Day holiday, up 20.12% from last year. Tourism revenue totaled 8.762 billion CNY, up 22.48 %.

Xie Zilong Photography Museum, a famous Changsha landmark, saw an upsurge in visitors during the National Day holiday. It had nearly 100,000 tourist arrivals.
Ningxiang’s Tanhe Ancient Town launched its “Chili Festival” event during the holiday. A series of wonderful chili-related performances were staged, such as a chili carnival parade and a chili flash mob show.

Red, or revolutionary, tourism was extremely popular.
Such scenic spots as Hu Yaobang’s Former Residence, the Autumn Harvest Uprising Memorial Park, Hunan Martyrs Park, and the Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall were popular among tourists. The Hunan Museum and the Changsha Museum had exhibition areas showing China’s modern history. Pictures and possessions of revolutionary martyrs were displayed.
Wonderful performances are staged at Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town.
Changsha’s night-time economy was booming.
On the evening of October 1, a magnificent fireworks show named “Ode to Autumn - My Motherland and Me” was staged on Orange Isle. It attracted more than 300,000.
Changsha’s featured restaurants and traditional delicacies were highly sought after also. There was much buzz about Changsha’s popular crayfish restaurant “Wen He You” on social media during the holiday. From October 4 to the early morning of October 5, it had about 20,000 reservations. A long queue could be seen in front of Changsha’s popular milk tea store called “Cha Yan Yue Se” even before the store was open.
