Changsha Holds Blood Donation Activity During National Day Holiday
A voluntary blood donation activity is in full swing in Changsha during the National Day holiday. On average, there are nearly 500 blood donors every day during the holiday.
“Participating in the blood donation activity has become a ‘regular event’ for me to celebrate the National Day,” said the 38-year-old blood donor surnamed Yang. On the morning of October 4, Yang got on a blood donation bus near the Wuyi Square Station. It was his seventh blood donation. After successfully donating 400ml of blood, he also received a “gift package” provided by the Hunan Public Welfare Union.
The activity has been held for 13 consecutive years. In 2019, on the occasion of the establishment of the Hunan Public Welfare Union, the activity has brought together a number of public-spirited enterprises to participate in and promote voluntary blood donation.
Meanwhile, a series of activities concerning travel and shopping have been launched to thank blood donors’ contribution, so that they can fully feel the society’s respect and care for them.
Between October 1 and 7, blood donors can enjoy special discounts at the Hunan Public Welfare Union units such as AUX Plaza, Poly Plaza, Zhonghai Huanyu Town, and Li Zijian Art Museum.
Blood donation buses will also be found at the gates of these units to facilitate blood donation.
