World Computer Congress Opens in Changsha
The 2019 World Computer Congress opened at the Changsha Meixi Lake International Culture and Art Center on September 10.
Du Jiahao, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, addressed the opening ceremony. Xu Dazhe, vice secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan governor, presided over it.
Nearly 150 distinguished guests attended the conference. Yang Xuejun, president of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Academy of Military Science made a keynote speech; Xin Yi, deputy director of the Central Military Commission (CMC) Science and Technology Commission, was present; Liu Lihua, deputy director of the CPPCC Economic Committee, delivered a speech; Fin Kydland, awardee of the Nobel Prize in Economics; provincial leaders Hu Henghua, Xie Jianhui, Zhang Jianfei, and Chen Fei; Chinese and foreign experts and scholars in related fields; and, company representatives in such areas as computer, 5G technology, industrial internet, and AI technology.
The congress is hosted by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Changsha Municipal People’s Government are main organizers.
It focuses on the development of computing technology industry. There will be one main forum, and nine sub-forums on IT industry’s ecology, future development, 5G technology, network security, chips, human-machine connections, ultra-high definition (UHD), AI algorithm, and state-of-the-art computation mode. In addition, there are innovative technology and products exhibition, and industrial cooperation meeting.
The attendees will discuss innovation and development of the IT core technologies and applications, in a bid to promote integration, innovation, and application computation and AI technology in an all-round way. This congress is the largest and highest-level professional event of China’s IT industry.
