9th Award of Hunan Entrepreneurs Launched
On August 28, the 2nd Summit Forum on World Chinese Entrepreneur Chambers of Commerce Leaders and the 9th Award of Hunan Entrepreneurs officially launched in Changsha. About 400 Hunan entrepreneur representatives and personages in business circles discussed how to seize development opportunities under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
“The ‘Belt and Road’ initiative is a historic opportunity, and a mission and responsibility that Chinese entrepreneurs share together in the new era,” said Luo Xiaolong, vice president of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC). Luo added that Hunan entrepreneurs have become an important driving force for China’s economic development. CGCC will strive to build the forum into an influential brand, and support Hunan entrepreneurs’ innovation and entrepreneurship to gather their strength.
In the Sui and Tang dynasties (581–907), Hunan's tea, silk, and porcelains were transported to West Asia and Europe. In the new era, Hunan entrepreneurs continue to forge ahead and contribute more to global business industry.
“Quality and brand determine product prospects in markets,” said Xie Donghai, president of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and chairman of Shanghai Weiren Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. He shared his business experience, that is, it should be based on traditions and local conditions to produce products with ‘Belt and Road’ characteristics. "I will make full preparation for promoting Hunan products to the ‘Belt and Road’ countries, and European and American markets." Xie Donghai said.
The organizing committee recommended a number of excellent projects to build an efficient resource integration platform and a channel for business opportunities for Hunan entrepreneurs. In addition, a documentary "Chinese Entrepreneurs Contribute to ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative" jointly produced by Hunan TV International and a Hunan-based media company was officially launched.
A three-month-long worldwide evaluation including application, field survey, online voting, and expert review, will be launched on August 28. The most influential entrepreneurs will be announced at late-November.
Began in 2011, the Award of Hunan Entrepreneurs has attracted about 60 million participants from more than 30 provinces and municipalities across the country. It has a far-reaching influence among millions of Hunan business groups and more than 300 domestic and foreign chambers of commerce.
