Song Dan Chinese Character Art Works to Be Displayed in Russia

On August 11, a group of Chinese character art works created by Hunan-born artist Song Dan were airlifted from Changsha to Russia, to participate in a Song Dan Chinese character art exhibition to be held in Irkutsk, Russia. The exhibition aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia diplomatic relations.

The Irkutsk National Research State Technical University (INRTU), a technical university in Russia, invited the Song Dan Chinese Character Art Museum in Hunan province to attend the activity. This is the 57th overseas exhibition exchange activity attended by Song Dan in the past four years.

During this 7-day activity, fine Chinese character art works with Chinese characteristics and Hunan culture will be displayed at art galleries and museums in Irkutsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. The exhibits include a 100-meter-long scroll with 100 pot-shaped family names, 10 calligraphy works, 20 creative Chinese character works, 12 zodiac pictograph Chinese character works, and a Tao Te Ching (a Chinese classic text) calligraphy scroll.

In addition, a Song Dan Chinese Character Art Museum-INRTU Chinese character experience center will be established. A Chinese character aesthetic education program will also be launched at the university.
