Overseas doctoral researchers sign agreements with Changsha enterprises, industrial parks, and universities.
On August 2, the opening ceremony for the 5th “Overseas Chinese Merchants and Experts Gathering in Hunan” event was held in Changsha. More than 140 overseas doctoral researchers and overseas Chinese leaders and merchants from more than 10 countries and regions, including Great Britain, Germany, the United States, Japan, Canada, and Australia, participated. They had face-to-face communication and discussion with local enterprises and institutions. Twelve project agreements were signed on site to boost Changsha’s high-quality development.
Hu Zhongxiong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, Changsha mayor, and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Xiangjiang New Area of Hunan Province; Zhang Jian, CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee vice chairman and Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce chairman; and, Li Zhuobin, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese vice chairman, all spoke at the opening ceremony.
A high-level talents forum, a promotion and exchange meeting, a talents matchmaking meeting, and a project signing ceremony were held later. Twelve Changsha units including Changsha Duxact Biotech Co. Ltd., Huazhi Rice Bio-tech Co. Ltd., and Changsha Intelligent Driving Institute Ltd. (CiDi) signed cooperation agreements with overseas doctoral researchers in biomedicine, artificial intelligence, molecular breeding, and intelligent health management.

The event lasted 3 days. Overseas doctoral researchers inspected the enterprise development and investment environment of Xiangjiang New Area, the Changsha High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and Shaoshan City on August 3.
