Hunan’s Food Imports and Exports Reach 614 Mln USD in 1st Half
The Changsha Customs announced on July 11 that, during the first half year, Hunan’s food imports and exports totaled 614 million USD. Dairy products are the largest amount of imported category, while vegetables are the largest amount of exported products.
The statistics shows that, during the first half, the Changsha Customs has supervised 9,137 batches of imported and exported food, worth 614 million USD. The imported food was 325 million USD, and the exported was 289 million USD. Among the imported food, dairy products were the most, worth 269 USD; and, vegetables were the most among the exported food, worth 77.45 million USD.
In 2019, the Changsha Customs would carry out sampling inspection for 21 categories of imported food, and risk monitoring for 104 items of 9 categories of imported and exported food, such as dairy products and meat, so as to guarantee imported and exported food safety.
According to the Changsha Customs, from July 1, the custom clearance procedure of imported prepackaged food will be innovated, and the quarantine and inspection, supervision, and sampling test processes will be streamlined. Normally, all procedures can be completed at the port, which will greatly increase the accuracy and efficiency of imported food custom clearance.
