Hunan’s Foreign Trade up 34.9% in First Five Months
The Changsha Customs announced that, between January and May this year, Hunan’s imports and exports totaled 141.35 billion CNY, increasing 34.9% over last year. Its growth rate ranked the second place throughout China. Among the total, the exports valued at 98.42 billion CNY, up 52.9%, and the imports 42.93 billion CNY, up 6.2%.
Between January and May, Hunan’s general trade imports and exports were 108.48 billion CNY, up 43%. It accounted for 76.7% of the provincial total. Exports reached 80 billion CNY, up 68.1%, and imports 28.48 billion CNY, up 0.7%. At the same time, the processing trade imports and exports were 28.7 billion CNY, an increase of 7.6% and accounting for 20.3%.
Hunan’s major trading partners were EU, Hong Kong, and ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Hunan’s trade with EU was 21.24 billion CNY, with Hongkong was 20.65 billion CNY, and with ASEAN was 19.32 billion CNY.
