Changsha to Observe Cultural and Natural Heritage Day June 14
The 2019 “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Publicity and Exhibition Activity will be held at the Changsha ICH Exhibition Hall on Orange Isle on June 14.
The theme of the activity is “China’s practice for protecting ICH”. It aims to display Changsha’s important achievements and good practices in safeguarding ICH over the past few years; organize more ICH publicity and exhibition activities that are popular with visitors and highly interactive; and offer chances for visitors to experience the charm of ICH.
There will be special areas for performance, interaction, and exhibition. Delicious food like Huibing (sweet-potato cakes) and sweet wine will be showcased on a stand at the interaction area. Visitors are allowed to have a taste for free.
Special ICH skills such as dough figurine making, palm weaving, paper cutting will be displayed. Visitors can also participate in fun games such as Touhu, an ancient Chinese game which requires players to throw arrows into wine pitchers.
Hunan opera performances will also be staged.
An opening ceremony will be held that morning. The nameplates of Changsha’s 6th group of 28 municipal ICH representative projects will be conferred during the ceremony.
