CCTV reported that, in the first quarter of 2019, the total industrial output value of the Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone exceeded 20 billion CNY, up 22% over last year. Changsha’s answer has been to promote industrial transformation using intelligent manufacturing.
In recent years, Changsha issued a series of policies to guide the intelligent transformation of enterprises. It has provided policy support and financial subsidies for enterprise innovation. It has also invited 17 experts and scholars to establish an intelligent manufacturing promotion team and provide decision-making services for intelligent manufacturing.
Meanwhile, aiming at the emerging fields of intelligent manufacturing, Changsha has cultivated such characteristic industries as intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent equipment, intelligent terminal, autonomous control and information security. It has also concentrated on creating 22 emerging and competitive industrial chains.
The National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Changsha) Testing Zone, located in the Xiangjiang New Area, has 288 test environments. A variety of unmanned vehicles such as buses and off-road vehicles are tested there. This has attracted a number of upstream and downstream support enterprises to Changsha, thus promoting an overall industrial upgrading.
As of this writing 27 national intelligent manufacturing pilot and special projects have located in Changsha. This is the most for provincial capitals. There are 29.6 patents per 10,000 population and innovation capabilities are improving.
