Changsha’s First Group of 28 New Energy Electric Sanitation Vehicles Delivered
Changsha’s first group of 28 new energy electric sanitation vehicles were delivered on May 22. They will all be put into use by the end of May. This is one of the effective measures that the city takes to promote new energy vehicles and safeguard the blue sky. Vice Mayor Liu Mingli attended the delivery ceremony.
At about 11:00 am, 28 environment-friendly electric cars, newly produced by Zoomlion, were ready to start off on their missions. The electric cars include such types: those for road maintenance, cleaning, and garbage transportation. In order to promote garbage classification across the city, 17 of them are wet garbage transportation vehicles.
"The operation and maintenance cost of these zero-emission and electrically-driven vehicles is only one third of the same type of fuel vehicles." According to the person in charge of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Urban Management and Law Enforcement. “Next, we will focus on vehicle debugging and testing; and improve supporting facilities like charging piles, so as to promote the use of new energy sanitation vehicles in the city.”
In 2019, a total of 150 new energy sanitation vehicles will be put into use in the city proper.
