Changsha Teenagers Win 2 Golds, 3 Silvers, and 5 Bronzes at Paris Invention Competition
The 118th Concours Lépine International Paris, an annual international invention competition, was held in Paris, France between April 25 and May 7, 2019. Changsha teenagers won 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes, marking the province’s best results. Lou Shanshan, a Grade 1 student from the Changsha Yali Shuyuan High School, won the Gold Award, and the Paris Municipal Award - the Chinese delegation’s only special award, for her “alarm system of manhole cover”.

The Changsha Institute of Educational Science and the Changsha Primary and Secondary Schools Innovation Education Committee selected 10 scientific and technological inventions developed by Changsha’s primary and secondary school students, to compete with those from companies, research institutions, universities, and professional inventors from all over the world. Being highly original, practical, humanistic, and closely connecting with people’s livelihood, Changsha students’ inventions were favored and highly praised by visitors and judges.
