1.17 Million Trips Made in Changsha During Qingming
The Yanghu Wetland Park ushered in its tourism peak on April 7. Many visitors enjoyed themselves at the park.
The 3-day Qingming Festival holiday ended April 7. According to the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, during the holiday, the city welcomed 1,173,800 tourists, up 17.69% over last year. Tourism revenue rose to 1.62 billion yuan, up 17.93%. The main scenic spots within the municipal statistical monitoring scope received 653,700 tourists, selling 19.32 million yuan in tickets.
Spring outings and flower tours in rural areas were popular.
During the holiday, canola flowers, cherry blossoms, tulips, and azaleas bloomed. Seasonal fruits such as strawberries became available in rural areas around Changsha. Many visitors went there to enjoy flowers, pick fruits, taste rural cuisines, and do farm work.
“Red” (Revolutionary) Tour was hot.
During the 3-day holiday, Yuelu Mountain had more than 250,000 tourists, becoming the most popular scenic spot, far more than for the same period of previous years. Orange Isle received 199,000 tourists, an increase of 32.5% compared with 2018. “Red” (Revolutionary) tourist attractions, such as Hunan Martyrs Park, Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall, the Liu Shaoqi Boyhood Residence, and the Hu Yaobang Boyhood Residence were also popular.

Before the holiday, many scenic spots in Changsha launched colorful and tourist-friendly activities. The 6th Annual Dahu Town Canola Flower Festival was held in Dahu Town, Liuyang City. Vast fields of canola flowers attracted many tourists. The 9th Annual Huitang Peach Blossom Festival attracted many tourists to take photos among the peach trees.
The 1st Weishan Tea Tour Cultural Festival had a series of activities, such as tea picking, new tea and local food tasting. Tea and local products were sold. Cultural performances like tea picking show and dragon dances were held.
