Hong Kong Guests Visit Changsha
A delegation of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), led by its Ladies’ Committee Chairlady, Mrs. Ivy Li, visited Changsha on March 26.
An economic and trade exchange conference between Changsha and CMA opened that afternoon. Tan Xiaoping, CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Standing Committee member and United Front Work Department director; and Peng Jiqiu, vice chairman of the CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee and chairman of the Changsha Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended.
CMA has a long history and is one of the most representative non-profit industrial and commercial organizations in Hong Kong. It has more than 3,000 members from all walks of life, and is committed to serving the society and safeguarding the public interests.
Mrs. Li said that CMA is very optimistic about Changsha’s investment prospects and is willing to serve as a bridge for Changsha’s development. “The high-speed trains have shortened the distance between Hong Kong and Changsha. If I am now leaving for Hong Kong from Changsha, I can arrive at Hong Kong in about 3 hours. The transportation between the two places becomes very convenient now. I hope more Hong Kong entrepreneurs will invest, develop, and make a fortune in Changsha,” she said.
Tan Xiaoping pointed out that Hong Kong is Changsha’s important source of foreign investment. It has unique geographical and industrial advantages, a world-class business environment, and close economic and trade cooperation with Changsha.
Changsha will strive to optimize its business environment, improve government affairs services, and provide a broad platform for the innovation and entrepreneurship of domestic and overseas investors including Hong Kong entrepreneurs.
He hoped that Hong Kong entrepreneurs will make frequent visits to Changsha, call for closer cooperation and exchanges between the two places, and support Changsha in bringing in high-end industries, technologies and talents from Hong Kong, so as to promote the common prosperity and development of the two places.
