Changsha Among China’s Top 10 Civilized Cities
On March 20, the Central Civilization Office announced the 2018 Civilized Cities Assessment results. Changsha ranked 10th and was praised by the office.
The assessment included 28 provincial capitals and sub-provincial cities among the national civilized cities; and 141 cities at or above the prefecture level and districts among the national nominated civilized cities. Such three assessment methods as field investigation, household questionnaire survey, and application materials review online were adopted. City’s civilization level, cultural taste; and people’s civilized behavior and quality of life were mainly taken into account.
Changsha had won the title of “National Civilized City” in 2011, 2015, and 2017.
Over the years, based on its cultural advantages, Changsha has further improved urban construction and management, and vigorously promoted urban renewal and smart city construction.
With an eye to benefiting the people, Changsha has made every effort to promote people’s livelihood projects construction, community renovation and upgrading, and rural revitalization. People’s sense of fulfillment has been further enhanced. Changsha has won the “Happiest City in China” award for 11 times.
Meanwhile, Changsha issued regulations to promote civilized behavior, and improve people’s quality. So far, there were 171 Changsha residents included on the list of “Moral Models in China”. Changsha was crowned as “the City of Moral Models”.
