Hunan Foreign Trade up over 40% in First 2 Months

The Customs data show that, in the first two months of 2019, Hunan’s imports and exports totaled 52.22 billion CNY, up 41% over last year. The export volume was 36.22 billion CNY, increasing by 61.7%; and, the import volume was 16 billion CNY, increasing by 9.3%. Data analysis indicates that, Hunan’s foreign trade has maintained a good momentum of growth.

Hong Kong, EU, and ASEAN countries are still Hunan’s major trade partners. The trade with U.S.A. was 3.25 billion CNY, declining by 19.4%; and, that with Germany was 3.01 billion CNY, increasing by 150%. Imports and exports by private enterprises accounted for 37.85 billion CNY, 72.5% of Hunan’s total, up 62.2% over last year. Imports and exports in general trade totaled 41.61 billion CNY, growing by 55.2%; and, that in processing trade totaled 8.77 billion CNY, down by 8.2%.

Mechanical and electrical products, and labor intensive products were major exported goods. In January and February, Hunan exported mechanical and electrical products of 15.22 billion CNY, up 56.9%, and taking up 42% of Hunan’s total exports for the same period. The hi-tech product exports was 4.23 billion CNY, up 38%, and taking up 11.7%.

Mechanical and electrical products were also major imported goods. The imports of hi-tech products declined. In January and February, Hunan imported mechanical and electrical products of 6.9 billion CNY, increasing by 17.6%, and taking up 43.1% of Hunan’s total imports for the same period. The hi-tech product imports was 2.74 billion CNY, down by 9.7%.
