Orange Isle Lantern Festival Fireworks Tonight
The Lantern Festival, also known as the Yuan Xiao Festival, falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese New Year. It is an important part of Spring Festival, marking the end of the Chinese New Year's celebration. The festival is also romantic because anciently it was a rare occasion for girls to go out, watch lanterns, and date their sweethearts. Modernly it is a family event.
A 20-minute fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 20:30 on February 19 (Tuesday), which is also the Lantern Festival this year, on Orange Isle in Changsha. The fireworks show has four parts.
Part One: Qin Yuan Chun (a classical Chinese poetry style)
Part Two: Poetry
Part Three: Far Away
Part Four: Changsha
One hundred each of international friends who spent the Spring Festival in Changsha, tourist representatives, moral models, and 100 journalists and photographers have been invited to enjoy the fireworks from either a cruise ship or the Du Fu Pavilion. They are encouraged to promote the show to the international community through livestreaming platforms, photography exhibitions, and comment collections. It will help disseminate Changsha culture and tourism.
