Preliminary Eve Celebrations on a Train
January 28 is northern areas’ Preliminary Eve (小年, or Little New Year), the 23rd day of the 12th month in the Chinese lunar calendar. On the same day, an activity to celebrate this festival was launched on Train G6114 departing from the Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station to the Changsha South Railway Station. Train attendants taught foreign tourists and Hong Kong passengers how to make paper-cutting, post Spring Festival couplets, and write Chinese character “fu” (“blessing” in English).
