The Ministry of Commerce recently released the list of the top 30 national economic development zones, based on a comprehensive performance evaluation. The Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone (CNETDZ), the only one in Hunan on the list, ranks 20th.
The evaluation was made on 219 national economic development zones from such aspects as: industrial foundation; technological innovation; regional leading role; eco-environmental protection; and, administrative efficiency. CNETDZ’s ranking climbed from 24th last year to 20th on the list. A CNETDZ person in charge described that Changsha launched the “Year of Industrial Projects Construction” in 2018. Priority has been given to intelligent manufacturing, industry chain construction, and four new economic incentives (new technologies, new industries, and new forms and models of business). Besides, Changsha has sped up the replacement of the old drivers of growth, to promote high-quality development. It is anticipated that the total industrial output value, the total financial revenue, and the investment in fixed assets will respectively rise by 10%, 14.9% and 10% at the end of 2018.
