Changsha Metro Line 4 Starts Test Run
The Changsha Metro Line 4 Phase I started a test run on the afternoon of December 29, 2018. It was expected to open for trial operation in the first half of next year.
The Phase I construction is a main line linking the major urban areas with northwestern and southeastern Changsha. The route is from Guanziling Station to Dujiaping Station, connecting Wangcheng District, Yuelu District, Tianxin District, Yuhua District, and Changsha County. It has a total length of 33.5 kilometers with 25 underground stations, including 13 transfer stations.
Among the 25 stations, there are 5 special stations; namely, Hanwangling Park Station, Liugoulong Station, Hunan Normal University Station, Hunan University Station, and Shumuling Station. They are designed according to the geographical location, surrounding environment, and cultural characteristics. There are also 4 transfer stations: Yingwanzhen, Fubuhe, Huangtuling, and Changsha South Railway Stations. These four stations follow the previous line decoration style.
The Changsha Metro Line 4 Phase I started construction at the end of 2014. Purple banner are used on the subway train to distinguish it from other lines. The train is marked B type with 6 carriages, running at a maximum speed of 80km/h.
