News Photography Exhibition Documents Changsha’s Progress
A newspaper witnesses the development of a city. On December 16, front pages of Changsha Evening News from 1978 to 2018, were exhibited on Binjiang Cultural Park Square and attracted many viewers.
On December 16th, a news photography exhibition entitled “Changsha’s Great Changes-Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up” was held at the multifunctional exhibition hall of the Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall. It was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, the Changsha Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, and the Changsha Evening Newspaper Group. It was undertaken by the Changsha Evening News Xingheng Media. The exhibition will be open to the public from December 16 to December 22.
On April 25, 1956, the Changsha Evening News, formerly the “Changsha Daily”, published its first photo of Changsha, marking the beginning of using news photos to record the city’s great changes and good moments. Nearly 100 photos, that best represent the great changes inChangsha, and its residents’ lives, from urban construction, urban landmarks, clothing, food, to shelter and transportation, were exhibited.
