Changsha Attracts More College Graduates to Work Here
Recently, the recruitment website zhipin.com released a report on employment competitiveness of college graduates in 2018. The report said that, with second-tier cities launching unprecedented policies to attract talents, the number of fresh graduates who choose to seek jobs in their hometowns continues to rise. In 2018, the overall fresh graduate retention rate in second-tier cities reached 64%, up 3.5% over 2017. This rise is most notably seen in Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Changsha, and Wuhan with a retention rate increasing by more than 8% in the past year.
The fresh graduates entering the workplace in 2018 were the survey object of the report. A total of 1,150,000 valid samples were selected. The research institute of zhipin.com conducted analysis and interpretation on the graduates’ salary level, profession, and region selection.
In order to promote high-quality employment of college graduates, the Changsha Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau has launched “Public Employment and Entrepreneurship Services Promoted in Campus” activities since October 2018. As of early December, all levels of the city’s human resources and social security departments held a total of 28 campus job fairs. A total of 1,524 enterprises participated, offering more than 40,000 jobs; and 7,455 students reached preliminary employment intentions.
